Is the starting weight too heavy?

The stack moves in 10lb increments, but it starts with a 5lb top plate for a 10lb total, so the first step is lighter than most machines. If you want a true 5lb starting weight, add the Midas Touch magnetic weight adder.

What if I'm stronger than the weight stack?

The El Toro weight stack horn adds up to 300lbs of standard Olympic plates. Worth knowing too: 160lb at a true 1:1 ratio is not the same as a 260lb stack on a 2:1 machine. Run the math and the Dane's 1:1 setup delivers more usable resistance per pound than most functional trainers.

Is the pulley system a 2:1 ratio?

The Dane 2.0 is designed with a 1:1 pulley system, so 100lbs feels like 100lbs. If 2:1 is a top priority for you, we're launching the Dane 3 and The Great Dane into the growing Dane Family in Fall 2026.

Will the cables twist?

Cable twisting can happen on every functional trainer, and we would rather be upfront about it than pretend otherwise. This video covers what causes it, how to fix it, and how to prevent it.

Is this too tall for my space?

The unit is 92" tall and the mounting brackets need roughly 95" of clearance to assemble it the standard way. If your ceiling is lower than that, keep an eye out for the Dane Low, coming soon.

How much depth does it need?

About 60" from the wall with the front extension feet on. The extension feet are completely optional and the Dane 2.0 is a tank even without them. Your depth is closer to 33" without them if you're working in a smaller space, and many customers run the Dane 2 this way.

How long does assembly take, and is it hard?

There is a step-by-step instructional video. Assembly takes a couple of hours or more depending on the space you are working in, and watching the video first makes it go a lot faster.

Is there a center lat pulldown or low row station?

Not as a dedicated station out of the box, but if you get The Drew, the Lat Pulldown Seat, and our Low Row Foot Plate at purchase, you'll have them from day one. Those are a few of our most popular add-ons to the Dane 2.0 by a long shot.

I'm a tall person. Can I get full range of motion from the lat pulldown?

Yes. Add The Drew Lat Pulldown Extender if you want to be sure. The Drew keeps your Dane 2.0 at the same overall height, but it raises the lat pulldown by about a foot. Roughly 11.5 inches, to be exact.

Should I wait for the Dane 3 or The Great Dane instead of buying now?

Buy a Dane 2.0 now and if we release a successor within 18 months, you get first access plus trade-up credit toward it. We take care of our customers instead of punishing the people who bought early.

Is the Dane 2.0 safe as a half rack?

Yes. Unless you plan on repping 1200lbs, you'll be fine. Watch Tim drop 615 pounds on the Dane 2.0, onto our Needle Spotter arms, and it just sits there like the tank it is.

I don't have enough space. Do you have a wall-mount or slimmer version?

What about a Smith Machine? Is it included, and how hard is the setup?

Not in this bundle. The Gibbon Arms Bundle is the Dane 2.0 plus the Gibbon Arms. The Smith Machine is a separate piece.

Two ways to get it. Add the BOB Smith Machine attachment on its own at any point, or step up to the Fully Loaded Bundle, which is this build plus BOB and a 20kg Wonder Bar barbell for it.

Either way BOB mounts on the back of the rack and setup is typically easy. If you think you'll want one down the road, it's cheaper to take it now than to add it later.

Dual 160lb Weight Stacks

The Dane 2.0 features dual 160lb weight stacks with a 1:1 pulley ratio. Both weight stacks are adjustable from 10lb - 160lbs in 10lb increments. With a the new compact weight stack design, the pulley cables reach 5.8' outside the rack and move on a 180 degree swivel, giving you plenty of room for cable work outside the rack.

Along with the functional trainer, The Dane 2.0 also features a commercial grade squat rack in the front. Every Dane includes a pair of low-profile spotter arms for squatting outside of the rack and a pair of extension feet for extra stability at the base of the rack while squatting.

This upgrade reduces friction and drag, allowing for fluid motion and better control throughout each rep. The Dane 2.0 is a compact half rack with a commercial-grade functional trainer built directly into the frame. By combining a squat rack and dual-stack cable system into a single 60" footprint, it delivers the strength training and versatility of two machines while taking up far less space.

On its own, the Dane 2.0 provides true 1:1 resistance, smooth trolley adjustment, and nearly six feet of cable travel outside the rack. With Gibbon Arms installed, the system goes further.

The Gibbon Arms extend the cable path away from the uprights and introduce precise horizontal and vertical angle control. This transforms the Dane 2.0 into a true cable crossover system, allowing full stretch, natural arm paths, and cleaner alignment for flys, presses, curls, rows, and single-arm movements.

For heavier training, the arms can be angled inward and linked together, allowing both weight stacks to be used simultaneously. This unlocks heavier resistance for rows, pulldowns, and compound cable work that would otherwise be limited to a single stack.

The result is a compact, commercial-grade training system that handles barbell work, functional training, and true crossover cable movements without compromise.
