Key Features

  • 700 lbs of Capacity in a Low-Profile Package: The Needle holds serious weight without the bulk. At 15 lbs per arm, you get heavy-duty spotter protection that's actually easy to move between exercises.

  • A Slim Profile That Keeps Your Rack Open: At under 4" wide per arm, the Needle doesn't crowd your uprights or block band pegs, dip attachments, or other gear. You get safety without giving up rack real estate.

  • Only 3.5 Holes on Your Upright: Standard spotter arms can eat up most of your usable upright. The Needle takes up roughly 3.5 holes, leaving the rest of your rack free for other attachments and adjustments.

  • Extra Holes for Extra Versatility: 1" holes on the side and top of the arms give you additional mounting points for compatible accessories. A dedicated 5/8" hole stores the magpin when it's not in use.

Spotter arms are supposed to protect you. They shouldn't take over your rack while they do it.

Standard spotter arms are bulky, heavy, and occupy a significant stretch of your upright. On a rack like the Dane 2, that eats into the holes you need for other attachments and makes repositioning between exercises more work than it should be. If you're running a fully kitted setup, oversized spotter arms are a real problem.

The Needle was designed around a different set of priorities. Each arm is 15 lbs and takes up roughly 3.5 holes on your upright, compared to the 7 holes a standard spotter arm uses on the Dane 2. The profile is slim at 2.5" wide with a weight capacity of 700 lbs.

The mounting system uses two points of contact: the magpin runs side to side through the upright and the bracket rests on two edges, distributing the load and keeping the arm stable under heavy weight. The lowest mounting position on the Dane 2 and similar units puts the arm at 14 inches off the floor, which covers the range you need for low bench work and floor-level pressing movements.

Compatibility was built in from the start. UHMW shims inside the bracket let the Needle fit racks with 1" or 5/8" holes in both metric and imperial configurations. Most spotter arms are locked to one rack ecosystem. The Needle works across them all. If you have a 5/8" rack, this is the answer you've been looking for.

The arms also have 1" holes along the sides and top, so you can attach compatible accessories and build out your setup beyond basic spotting. A dedicated 5/8" hole on each arm stores the magpin when you're not using it. Both magpins are included.

The Needle fits any 3x3 rack with 1" or 5/8" holes, in both metric and imperial configurations. UHMW shims in the mounting bracket handle the size difference between hole standards.

700 lbs.

Two Needle Spotter Arms and two magpins.

Each arm occupies roughly 3.5 holes on your upright. For reference, standard spotter arms use around 7 holes on a Dane 2.

On the Dane 2 and similar units, the lowest mounting position puts the arm at 14 inches off the floor.

The 1" holes on the side and top of the arms give you additional mounting points for compatible accessories. The 5/8" hole on each arm stores the magpin when it's not in use.

The magpin runs side to side through the upright and the bracket rests on two edges of the steel rather than one. This distributes load across two contact points, keeping the arm stable and secure under heavy weight.
