"You may all go to hell and I will go to Texas." Davy Crockett
Davy Crockett proclaimed these famous words announcing his departure from Tennessee and his newfound allegiance to Texas. You'll feel the same about other bars after you get to know The Lone Star Power bar.
Crockett knew the magic of Texas, so much that he defended and died for it at the Alamo. When you feel the magic of the 100% American made, Lone Star Power bar in your hands, you'll be yelling "come and take it!" as you assert your freedom and reject succumbing to the ordinary.
You'll also know why Texans feel so proud and still rally around the Alamo. Because you'll be doing the same, firing cannons in your garage gym with the Lone Star Power bar.
Much like a timeless classic needed an updated relaunch for a new generation of fans, we felt the same with traditional power bars.
Our mission followed in the footsteps of the mastermind behind the Mad Max franchise, George Miller. Keep, maintain and preserve all the old-school elements that made the flagship awesome, but recast and refresh the sentiments for a new generation.
We kept the grit, the power, the simplicity, and the trusted reliability. That's when we knew we could parrot Davy Crockett again, "Be always sure you're right, then go ahead!"
More than anything, we wanted to dial it in for old school lifters who just want to grip it 'n' rip it with a proudly, American made bar. Sound like you? Here's why you've found your other half:
1. You Worship the Powerlifting Holy Trinity
Find yourself repeating "squat, bench and deadlift" after God, family, country? Then this is the bar for you. This bar's design caters to all your powerlifting needs and excels for squatting, benching and deadlifting. This bar smashes those lifts like Bigfoot rolls over cars. Do you drive Bigfoot down the express lane of the highway? No you don't and you don't use this bar for other lifts.
2. Harley = Yes vs. Crotch Rocket = No
Are you a Harley guy? Scoff at crotch rockets and go "pfft"? Then this bar is for you and only you. The Lone Star Power bar has no time for these newfangled Oly lifts or whatever these young bucks are all doin' nowadays. You don't give a damn about cleans, jerks, and snatches, much less know what they even are. This is no time for games. After you park your hog you want to strut into the saloon and order a simple shot of whiskey with no frills. It's not about speed. It's your lifestyle.
3. Fondness for Masochistic Knurling
Want your hands to feel like Pfc. Desmond Doss' in Hacksaw Ridge? This is your bar. Forget about "bite." This bar's knurling will devour your hands like a certain shark mangled swimmers near Martha's Vineyard. WARNING: if you draw blood, Roy Schneider and Richard Dreyfuss won't be there to save you.
4. Fury Road > Mad Max = Improved
If you think Fury Road was better than Mad Max, this bar is for you. Hey, do we love Mad Max? Hell yeah, we do. The only thing we like more is looking back at our forerunners, giving them a tip 'o' the hat, then improving upon the original. We took the finest features of power bars before us, then combined those with improved knurling and spin, thus lifting the (power) bar for a new generation.
The 3 colors on the Texas flag represent loyalty (blue), purity (white) and red (bravery).
The colors resonate with the soul of Texas to such a degree that the Texas flag is the only state flag allowed to fly at the same height as the American flag.
After lifting with the Lone Star power bar, you'll want to offer it the same respect.
Salute your bravery for breaking up with your gym membership.
That's what Texas did.
Texas was originally part of the Mexican province called Coahuila y Tejas, which was represented by 2 white stars on its flag.
After the nasty breakup you may have heard about,Tejas became Texas, and the 2 stars got pared down to the lone star.
A bold American titan was born.
Now it's time to welcome that same attitude to your garage.
Start your own strength training revolution and create your story with the Lone Star Power bar.
This bar has exceeded my expectations. I wanted another power bar and I liked the bumper plates I got from Fringe Sport so I figured I'd give it a shot. Fast shipping and well packaged, knurling is very aggressive (major plus), bar seems strong and well made. I go to this bar for many lifts over a higher priced power bar that is also on my gun rack.
I bought this bar about a year ago and it is has just gotten better. It's been my primary bar through 3 different phases of programming and it has made me so happy. The stiffness helped me get my squat into the 500s for the first time and get my bench up to where I wanted it this year. I even put 150 lbs on my deadlift. Believe that the knurling is aggressive. It will stay right where you put it on your back and if you don't let go of it on the DL, it won't let go of you. If you're looking to get stronger, this is your bar.
To be honest, I was a little wary of the Lone Star power bar at first based on the over-the-top description of the knurling. Having put it through its paces for 3-4 workouts now, I find that I like it a lot. It IS aggressive, but it doesn't feel too aggressive or uncomfortable on any of the main lifts. OK, I take that back - it does bite back on deadlifts, but deadlifts aren't supposed to feel good ... I had a pending order for another well-known power bar made in Texas, but was facing a delivery timeline somewhere between 10 weeks and whenever. Saw that this bar was in stock - ordered on a Wednesday, received the following Tuesday. It actually took longer to cancel that other order than to receive my new Lone Star bar. Typically amazing Fringe Sport customer service - thank you!
Bought this for my garage gym and love it. I strongly believe that too much knurling is better than not enough knurling, but I can see this bar as maybe being too coarse for new lifters. This is a solid bar for deads, squats, and bench.
Good for deadlifts, squats, bench press. Nice tough knurling too
