Built in Weight Pegs to Keep You Grounded

As Peter says, "You can spend more but you can NOT spend less and get a rack that is a joy to lift on today and 10 years from today." It's on record, so go ahead and hold him to it. You know what you're going to say after a few months of lifting on this rack? "This is my squat rack. There are many like it, but this one is MINE. My squat rack is my best friend. It is my Garage Series."

Squat Rack to Upgrade Your Home Gym?

The "end state" of the Olympic lifts is overhead or at the shoulder. Many lifters drop the weights from overhead. Since bumper plates are almost entirely rubber, being dumped from the shoulder or overhead will not damage the weights, bar, floor, bystanders, the lifter, etc... Bumper plates are also great for garage gym use- the rubber construction is much quieter than traditional metal construction.

Here's the rundown on the improvements we've made to the Garage Series squat rack with pull-up bar!

The Garage Series Squat Rack with Pull-Up Bar combines durability, stability, and space efficiency to provide the perfect entry level rack for home gyms. The rack has a 4'x4' footprint, offering maximum functionality without taking up too much space.

The garage series squat rack features 2" x 3" powder-coated, 12-gauge steel uprights designed for stability when performing squats and pull-ups. The enhanced uprights also have a weight capacity of 600lbs.

Diagram showing the dimensions of The Garage Series Squat Rack with Pull-Up Bar.

The 5/8" holes are also compatible with all 5/8" rack attachments, so you can customize this rack with spotter arms, a dip station, additional weight storage pins, hang a hammock off it... you get the point! The rack also comes with a pair of J-cups made with an outer layer of UHMW plastic to protect your bar's finish when racking the weight.

Diagram showing the 5/8 inch holes for 5/8 inch rack attachments of The Garage Series Squat Rack with Pull-Up Bar.

The 5.5-inch long weight horns on the back side of the rack offer rock-solid stability and convenient plate storage.

The pull-up bar has a 1.25" diameter and has multiple height options to accommodate different heights and workout preferences. At it's tallest setting, the pull-up bar hangs 83" off the ground, giving you plenty of space to get full extension at the bottom of a pull-up without touching your feet on the ground.

Enhanced Uprights: The uprights are everything for a garage gym rack. Knowing this, we used heavier gauge steel for improved stability.

  • Single Piece Upright: One solid piece of continuous steel that an ironworker would lust after.
  • Shorter Uprights: We got tired of the Garage Series bumping its head. We shortened it so that it comfortably clears average garage ceiling heights. Who doesn't say "ouch" when you see a semi with the trailer roof accordioned against an overpass? Most of the competition has a really bad bruise on their forehead.
  • Hole Spacing: We narrowed up the spacing in the bench press zone, so the Garage Series now abides with Westside spacing (1" from hole center to hole center) dude. We also added low holes, beneath the Westside spacing for rack pulls and other options.
  • Hole Placement: We didn't want to cut off our tall customers. So even though we shortened the uprights, we kept high holes for the vertically gifted. If you want to use a landmine on this rack, the bottom hole is 16" from the ground.
  • Hole Size: 5/8" holes that the natives were restless for.
  • Pull-up Bar: We added a pull-up bar with a super popular design. Feels as secure as the hand railing in a rollercoaster when you're about to drop. Has familiar, standard pull-up bar diameter. Features a matte black, powder coat finish that endures abuse and boasts a subtle gritty feel, making for comfy gription. Easy to do standard pull-ups or kipping pull-ups on. Weight capacity on the pull up bar is 450lb. Adjustable pull-up bar mount has highest height of 82 1/4" and lowest height of 70 1/4".
  • J-cups: Ain't nobody got time for the slew of inferior J-cups out there. We built ours to the same standard as our heavy duty commercial J-cups. We put a plastic UHMW coating on the front and top of the J-cups that protects both your barbell and the J-cups.
  • Compact Profile and Footprint: We found the sweet spot, Venn diagram intersection of small and stable. This may have involved some evil mathematical formula and three-dimensional sorcery. Please don't ask. Honestly, we used less steel on the bottom, yet still hit payday between maximizing stability and providing a lean footprint and profile.
  • Weight Pegs: Since we used less steel to provide that slim and trim footprint, we didn't want to shoot the Garage Series in the foot. So we added a couple of pins for added weight should you want.
  • 2" x 3" Uprights: We went to the industry standard for 2 reasons. 2" x 3" uprights create more stability and compatibility. You can use all our accessories (spotter arms, dip stations, J cups, etc.) on the Garage Series. Yes, it's also compatible with our competitors' accessories as well.
  • Footprint Tabs: Although it's as sturdy as a statue coming out of the box, we added the option to bolt it into the floor or a platform underneath (plywood for example).
  • Easy Assembly: You can put this bad boy together in under an hour, sometimes as fast as 45 minutes. One person can do it, but we recommend 2.
  • Easier to Move: Doesn't seem much heavier than an old folding table you've carried.
  • FREE Shipping: You know you want it.

The Most Versatile Squat Rack On The Market

This Squat Rack With Pull Up Bar is the most versatile and effective piece of equipment on the market today. With this one piece of equipment + a barbell you can target all your muscle groups in a short area of real estate. Made from high-grade steel, this rack is designed for strength and durability. When it comes to getting results from your workouts, nothing beats the versatility and effectiveness offered by the SPB. The Garage Series SPB allows you to to customize your workouts and reach your fitness goals with a variety of attachments. This makes the SPB an ideal choice for those who want to maximize their gym space while achieving maximum results.

We don't recommend it unless the rack has been installed.

It's a type of upright drilling that places holes close together in the bench press area, allowing for very granular control of bar placement. Westside hole spacing means that there is 1" from hole center to hole center.
Unfortunately, no, those pegs are too big for this squat rack.
45 inches
Yes that dip station will work on this rack!
We don't recommend doing those pull ups, unless you have bolted the rack to the floor. While you can put weight on the weight horns to hold it down, this may not be a good option for most people. We recommend bolting the rack down if you plan on doing movements like this.

Solid rack for the price

Overall a great product for the price. Easy to assemble even with just one person. I bought the dip bar and mount it on the inside when doing dips, but there is definitely some wobble but it's tolerable. It's enough to make me remove the j-hooks however because otherwise they tend to rattle like crazy.

Several reviews mentioned the rack was really wide which can make it harder to re-rack since you have to be very precise. That was a concern for me as well, but it looks like they might have adjusted the width of the rack to be a bit narrower based on feedback. I think it's perfect and I haven't had any issues reracking. Width between the uprights is about 41-1/8" and overall width including uprights is 45-1/8". See my picture showing it with a Fringe Wonder Bar. There's a little over 3" of clearance on both sides between the collar and upright if the barbell is centered.

A few reviews also mentioned the uprights were a 2 piece construction but that must be for an older iteration of the product. This has 6 solid sections: 2 bottom rails, 2 uprights, 1 crossmember at the base, and 1 pullup bar which reinforces the rigidity of the uprights.

Small suggestions: would have loved an optional wheel attachment (like Rogue has with their squat rack) for the option of moving this around and slightly taller weight pegs in the back to store more plates. Currently each side is around 5-3/4" and can accommodate 2 45s or a 45, 25, 10.

Great Entry Rack

This is a high quality rack at a great price. It has a little bit of side-to-side movement on the pull-up bar, but is more than sturdy. It’s easy to assemble and easy to move. I am extremely happy with this squat rack.

Solid, sturdy rack, though a bit wide

Love the look and feel of this rack. It's heavy duty and well constructed. Thick walls on the beams with perfect drilling.

It's a little wide for my preference - sometimes I want to rack a front squat or jerk quickly, where I'm not perfectly centered, which leads to banging the bar collars on the J-hooks sometimes. It would be nice for it to be 6 inches narrower both to avoid that crashing and to give me any option to take snatch pulls off the hooks rather than the floor.

But look, you can load this thing up and train hard in the garage, which is exactly the point. So buy it and get after it.

Loving my new rack. Perfect fit in a tight space in my garage and more than sturdy enough for the non-powerlifters among us. As a tall man, it's SO nice to be able to do pull ups somewhere besides my doorway.

really like the squat rack, it's nice and compact and not too tall, it has a nice small footprint so that it doesn't take up too much space in the garage. It's super stable doing pull-ups, as well as squatting and benching or doing rows using gymnastics rings. Overall, I'm really happy with it.

Review: It's very sturdy, easy to move the J-cups, and fits in my basement. If it was just a bit narrower, it would be perfect.

This rack has been awesome!! Really love how sturdy it is for squats and pull-ups while also being highly mobile for my finite space in the garage. Would love the gift card to get some more bumpers! As always, great products for yall, thank you!

The Garage Series Squat rack, has been great. It holds up well and was an easy install. Love that I can use the pull up bar, to do kips, Lat work, and use my array of resistance bands for warm ups and cool downs. The only thing I wish came with this rack: numbers on each of the holes in the side rack. The upgraded versions have this, but it doesn't need to be fancy, would have been nice to include any aspect of that feature on this entry level rack for anyone who is just starting out their own gym. I appreciate the holes in the squat legs, to insert band pegs, for more challenging lifts. Overall, this has been a great first piece and main piece, of equipment for me. I like that it is elegant in its simplicity.

After doing much research and a failed power cage from a big box store which was returned. I bought the garage series squat rack. Best fitness decision I've made at 37. I bought the weights first but they weren't of any use Without the Squat rack. I've gotten plenty of compliments on the rack. It's very sturdy with good welds and is though fully put together. I love the fact that I can do a workout at home and decompress within a few feet from the equipment. It's been Worth it for me.

I love the compact size of the rack and the ability to do pull ups. It is extremely sturdy and for the price I don't think there is a better rack that can do all this one can

Perfect for what I was looking for

The garage series squat rack was exactly what I needed in the space I had. I highly recommend getting a second pair of j-hooks (you’ll thank me later) and the spotter arms to help push the limits. This has helped me hit personal goals I thought I could only get at a gym, with this I get to stay home and and waste no time traveling. I also have to give a big shout out to fringe, my buddy who helped me get the gear recommended a few brands and I had a beyond horrible experience with the other one selling the same type of equipment but fringe has been spot on for everything and even helped me out when I made a mistake thinking something from the other company would work but didn’t. I Highly recommend the rack and I highly recommend fringe!

So the Garage Series SPB, is one of the if not the best workout equipment purchase I have ever made. For the price and convenience of being able to put it in a room is unbeatable first of all. If you are doing any sort of home workouts or jus generally working out at home being able to securely do pull ups is a must. No more of those weak door pull up bars. This thing is a beast. Stable as hell. Added plates to reinforce but i don't think you need them at all. Fits perfectly in small space. I've been able to take my home workouts that involve pull ups to a new level. Couldn't ask for a better design and purchase. Hopefully the pic uploads below as well. Fits perfectly in the corner of my room and best of all doesn't take up space.

Highly recommend this rack for garage gyms

I've had my Garage Series Squat Rack w/Pull Up bar for right at a year now. It fits great in my garage. Garage ceiling is 96" and the rack is 84.5" tall. Enough room for me to do pull-ups. I do have to bend my knees when doing pullups but based on the space I have that's acceptable. I've moved once since I bought it. Light enough to easily move but still sturdy enough to squat with. I've never had any concerns at the end of a heavy set of squats when I re-rack the weight. Recently bought the Lat & Lift Cable Pulley system. So far, so good.

Bent Rack

Purchased this rack the end of June and when it arrived one of the uprights was bent. Initially the customer service was super quick and helpful with responding and placing a request for my replacement . However 3 weeks went by without notification of my replacement piece being processed and shipped. After reaching back out the response was “we already made the request it will be shipped”. After 3 weeks of going back and forth about my replacement I requested a refund instead. Fringe asked for another chance to make it right and I received a shipping email for the replacement that day. When I received the replacement piece it was sent in a box that was about 2 inches to small the top of the rack was wrapping in plain plastic wrap and tape. Of course the piece was yet again bent. When I emailed the customer service member I had be working with he advised I should try hammering the piece with a mallet and if that didn’t work he could send yet another replacement piece. I declined further replacement and requested a refund and was told to carefully package the damaged rack I received so it would not have any shipping defects on the way back to fringe. Save your money and time, purchase with another company.

Arrived damaged

The squat rack itself is good for the price. However when it arrived one of the legs was damaged and some parts were scratched. The box was not damaged at all. I reached out to Fringe and was told everything leaves the warehouse in perfect condition and it must have happened in shipping. Nothing has been done to resolve this problem.

Awesome

Can’t really do toes to bar without a lot of weights on the pegs. Not a big deal tho. Just put weights on. Other than that its a great freakin product for the price.

Exactly what I was looking for

I’m a cardio junkie gone dark side because I was having knee pain and was told in order to keep my knee healthy I had to strengthen the muscles around it. Been lifting for 3 years and finally got my own squat rack after slowly accumulating equipment. I love it. It’s high quality and compact, my 13 year old and I put it together in an hour. I highly recommend this and would definitely buy again!

Meatheads are cool too I guess :)

Great for the price

Almost perfect in my opinion with very minor flaws. The rack is solid with little side to side movement. The option to bolt it down would help with stability but is not necessary. Height adjustments are accommodating for all types of movements. Finish is great but due to inadequate packing material some nicks/chips were present. Also one of my uprights had a bent flange but after bolting it together it flattened out. My biggest complaint is the width of the rack. With very little room on either side of the barbell collars it’s tricky to re-rack especially when under a stressful load. If the rack was 2” narrower that would help a lot. Overall for the price it’s well worth it and will last for years.

Just what I wanted

I just got my rack and it looks great. I wanted a good quality piece that feels sturdy, and that’s what I got. I heard fringe has good customer service and they definitely do. Overall it’s a great rack for my workout room, I would recommend to friends.
