We Will Bump You Up
"I hated every minute of training, but I said "˜Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'" - Muhammad Ali
You'll love our bumper plates because they're going to make you suffer like you never have before. Fringe Sport bumper plates make Sisyphus blush. Like eternally rolling a boulder uphill, our bumper plates will outlast you, laboring for a lifetime. They're durable, so they'll absorb all the punishment you dish out, thin so you can add bigger loads to the bar and super weight accurate. Better yet, unlearn everything you've ever learned about 10 lb bumpers, and drop these at will. Yes, you read that right. Drop the 10s. They won't crumble. After the boulder rolled downhill, did Sisyphus ever find it broken?
Think about epic heroes like Luke Skywalker or the Karate Kid. You too are called to training that will involve pain and suffering. We're here to be your Yoda. We invite you to embark on your hero's journey. Accept the challenge, and our bumper plates will be the burden that makes you a champion.
Mark of a Champion
The quality of training determines the quality of the champion. We want you to succeed, so we've hammered our bumper plates, alleviating you of any worries about their quality. Every year my dad would haggle with the Christmas tree dealer, telling him "Jesse James had a gun," implying he was robbing us with no weapon. Here's why you're going to feel like you've done the same to us:
Torture Tested. Yeah, that's right, we're sadists with our bumpers. We originally torture tested them to 15,000 drops, and now we've UPPED the test to 30,000 drops! Proven tough, even the 10s! Pop, stop and drop our 10s as much as you want. The toughness of our 10s made us do a mic drop.
Texas Tough. The legendary reputation for our bumpers' durability precedes them. Why are they so damn durable? We leveled up by including a hooked steel insert (see picture above) in our 25 lb, 35 lb, 45 lb, and 55 lb bumpers. These bumpers will handle everything and anything you throw at them, from the good to the bad and the ugly.
Drop the 10s! Just say no to tacos. Our 10 lb plates won't bend, fold, crease or cease on you. We made the competition's weak link, our strong suit, by employing engineering and design-savvy. The resulting durometer rating gives you a fear of heights and benefits you with bumpers that survive 40-foot drops. If our 10 pounders do this, imagine what the rest of our plates handle.
10 lb Smart Design. With a thicker width to dissipate shock upon impact and a narrower diameter to offset impact, we engineered our 10 lb plates to resist destruction.
Warrant not to worry. We do our best to increase your comfort, by not only punishing our plates and proving their durability but also by backing them up with the best warranty in the industry. Giving you a year on tens and fifteens, and three years on the rest, makes you wonder if we crush on our customers too hard. We have our commercial customers' backs too. If you own a box or a gym, we've got our equipment spotted for you.
Austin Buff, Texas Tough
We face a unique challenge here at Fringe Sport because we have to live up to lofty billing that competitors don't- being Texas tough. We take pride in doing so, and we've brought that legendary, bootstrapping resilience to our bumper plates. Toiling in the cavernous forges at Fringe headquarters, our blacksmiths manufactured our bumper plates with virgin rubber, and a crafted a "hooked" steel insert providing unmatched durability, density and low bounce that will hold up to the most brutal and punishing workouts. Fringe bumpers endure, the most arduous, customer-focused manufacturing and quality control in the industry, along with a robust shipping process. We're proud of the impeccable quality and glad to hand you these true grit tempered, bumpers on a plate.

Eric Rodarte says:
"I bought a full gym package - dual squat rack, color bumpers, slam ball, and of course the Wonder bars. The quality is amazing, the rack is sturdy (even on multiple T2B). The bumpers bounce very little and will be durable for many years to come. The plates are better than all the plates from other vendors in my previous CF gym. I'm really glad I purchased Fringe Sport products -- I'm a customer for life!"
Rick Kenney says:
"The awesome customer service I've received from Susie and Lauren will keep me a Fringe customer for life. If you're looking for a barbell and bumper setup, the OneFitWonder bumpers and Wonder Bar are the best value on the market right now. I opted for the needle bearing bar and have no idea how Fringe is making money off of it. It's that nice. My only regret is that I didn't spend a couple extra bucks and spring for the color version of the bumpers, but I'm still really happy with my purchases 4 months later. If you have any reservations about buying from Fringe, lose 'em. Their customer service is great and their products are incredible."
Fringe It, or Forget It
Don't worry about hitting a bump in the road either. Not only do we stand behind our product, but we lift under them too. Whether that means using Fringe Sport bumpers daily at Fringe Sport headquarters (you're invited to come in and workout with us anytime) or offering impeccable customer service. We strive to be your trusted workout partner and trainer. A three-year warranty covers all our 25 lb, 35 lb, 45 lb, and 55 lb bumpers, with a one year warranty for our 10 lb and 15 lb bumpers. If you aren't happy with your purchase for whatever reason within the first 30 days, we'll give you a full refund and foot the bill for return shipping. We aim to please, so our return policies even extend up to a year. We have our commercial customers' backs too. If you own a box or a gym, we've got our equipment spotted for you.
We have an informal state motto here in Texas- "come and take it." Not only do we want you to do this with Fringe Sport bumper plates, but we'd like to put our own spin on it. Fringe it, or forget it.

Step Up to the Plate
Here's why Fringe Sport bumpers will lift you up:
Steel Insert- Outperforms most bumpers with a higher threshold for abuse without malformation, while machined to exact tolerances to fit all high-quality Olympic bars.
Low Bounce with High Durability- Careful rubber formulation softens bounce making for safe use in tight spaces and prevents chipping and falling apart due to brittleness. Boasts years of use in a garage or affiliate.
Stability- 25, 35, 45, and 55 lb bumpers feature expertly designed "hooked" steel insert, that remains firmly seated. It offers high durability, making them more stable than most that suffer from fragility and thinness.
Thinner- Virgin rubber and higher density slim the plate so you can load more weight on your bar!
Standard diameter- Universal matching diameter so you can mix and match to load your bar.

Why Choose Bumper Plates by Fringe Sport?
Not all bumpers are created equal. Here's why your next bumper plates should be Fringe Sport bumpers:
- Fringe Sport bumper plates feature a steel insert that is designed to far outperform most of the others bumpers in the industry. A steel insert will take much more abuse without malforming - and it is machined to exact tolerances to fit all high-quality Olympic bars.
- Fringe Sport bumpers use a rubber formulation that combines the ideal mix of low bounce with high durability. Some bumper plates bounce too much- they are potentially unsafe. Other bumpers are too brittle- and they easily chip and fall apart. Not Fringe Sport bumper plates!
- Fringe Sport bumpers 10 and 15 lb bumpers are much more stable because they have high durability, "hooked" steel insert. This makes them more stable than most 10 or 15 lb bumpers which are the most fragile bumper plates out there, due to their thinness and lack of durability.
- Fringe Sport bumpers are thinner than many of the competing bumpers because they are made of a virgin rubber - so you can load more weight on your bar!
- Fringe Sport bumpers all have the same standard diameter- you can mix and match to load your bar.
- Finally, Fringe Sport bumper plates are backed by our no-questions-asked satisfaction guarantee- plus a 1-year warranty from the manufacturer. Use them and love them- or send them back FREE!
Frequently Asked Questions
What does durometer mean?
- Durometer measures the hardness of a material. Ranging from 0-100, the higher the rating the harder the material, and the higher the material's resistance to indentation. Anything above 65 is acceptable for bumper plates. Our plates rank excellent.
Why do different weight bumper plates have different durometer readings?
- In general, the lighter bumper plates have a higher durometer reading because they need to be more rigid to withstand the stress of being dropped. Heavier plates have more surface area to distribute stress, so they do not need to be as hard.
Why are the ten-pound bumpers narrower than all the rest?
- The 10 lb bumper plates are purposefully 5mm narrower than the other bumper plates so that when you have 10s loaded on the bar, plus other bumpers, the 10 lb plates impact the ground a split second later than the other bumpers. Since the 10 lb plates have the least surface area and are thus the weakest bumpers, this saves stress on your 10 pounders.
Can I drop the 10 lb bumpers like I see my favorite athletes do?
- Drop it like it's hot. We are confident that our 10 lb bumper plates will handle the abuse. If not, we back them up with our fully comprehensive, one-year warranty. The durability of our 10 lb bumpers makes us so confident, that we back them up with the best warranty in the business. Our warranty serves as the proof and evidence of our bumpers toughness.
10/15/25 - 100 lb - Great starter set. Use the 10s and 15s to help with technique to start, then move up to the 25s as you get stronger.
10/25/45 - 160 lb - Full, entry weight set for Olympic lifting with bumper plates. Use the 10s to help with technique to start, move up to the 25s as you get stronger, and use 45s to pound the ground. Traditional iron weights can be used to supplement this set if you need more weight.
15/25/45 - 170 lb - Big sister set of the entry-level, with the added benefit of a beefier 15 lb plate instead of the 10. 10s are by far the most oft-destroyed plate because of their size, so this set aims to eliminate that concern.
10/25/55 - 180 lb - Big brother of the entry-level, with the added benefit of a 55 lb plate instead of the 45 lb plate. This is a great set for someone who has already been lifting and knows they need the extra weight.
10/15/25/45 - 190 lb - Want to make smaller weight jumps and be able to add rubber to the bars? This is your set. The 15s by themselves are still mainly for technique, but their added weight definitely makes them sturdier than the 10 lb bumpers.
10/25/35/45 - 230 lb - More versatility makes this set a great option for anyone who wants to make incremental gains.
10/25/45/45 - 250 lb - The 35-pounder got the heave-ho, in favor of another 45, to give you 20 more pounds to work within this set. The smaller weights make a great option for anyone who wants to work their way up to heavier weights.
10/15/25/35/45 - 260 lb - This 260 lb full set is a must for a well-stocked home gym. Multiple sets are great for commercial gyms. This set comes with 5 pairs of black, full rubber bumper plates- one set each of 10 lb, 15 lb, 25 lb, 35 lb, and 45 lb plates.
10/15/25/45/45/45 - 370 lb - This 370 lb set ensures that all your bases are covered, for 1 or 2 people. Whether you're a novice or throwing around some real weight, this set has what you need. Need to go heavier? You can either add iron in or contact us for a custom quote on a larger package.
10/15/25/35/45/55 - 370 lb - This 370 lb full set is a great option if you want to lift like the Hulk at your garage gym. This set includes the hurly-burly 55 lb plate to our regular, complete package. This comes with 6 pairs of rubber bumper plates - one set each of 10 lb, 15 lb, 25 lb, 35 lb, 45 lb, and 55 lb.
10/15/25/45/45/45/45 - 460 lb - We've added another pair of 45's to our 370lb set so you can add more weight!
How can I choose the bumper plates that are right for me?
Start off by reading an in-depth overview of different types of bumper plates to help decide which kind suits you best. For now, know that bumper plates come in a few standard sizes and are generally sold in pounds or kilograms. Fringe Sport bumpers are sold by the pound. Here is a chart with the rough pound and kilogram weights:
||Best Weight For:
|10 lbs ~ 5 kg
||Great for teaching or learning Olympic lifts.
|15 lbs ~ 7 kg
||Same uses as the 10s, but this offers greater durability at only a slightly heavier weight.
|25 lbs ~ 11 kg
||A very popular weight as they are very durable and throwing these on an Oly bar gives you 95 pounds (Fran Rx).
|35 lbs ~ 16 kg
||A great size for adding more weight on the bar.
|45 lbs ~ 20 kg
||The most popular size for gyms - 45's really let you load up your bar and make some serious strength gains.
|55 lbs ~ 25 kg
||When the 45s just don't cut it, we have 55lb bumpers to add some serious weight to the bar.
What is a bumper plate?
A bumper plate is a weight plate for Olympic bars that is made almost entirely of rubber (with a steel or brass collar in the middle that accepts an Olympic bar).
Why bumper plates?
The "end state" of the Olympic lift is overhead or at the shoulder. Many lifters drop the weights from overhead. Since bumper plates are almost entirely rubber, being dumped from the shoulder or overhead will not damage the weights, bar, floor, bystanders, the lifter, etc...
Bumper plates are also great for garage gym use - the rubber construction is much quieter than traditional metal construction.
What exercises can I do with bumper plates?
For the most part, bumper plates are used with a barbell, but you can also do exercises with a single bumper plate for an effective workout.
- Clean and Jerk
- Overhead lunge
- And even more!
