We're excited to get this bad boy in our arsenal for you. If Snake Plissken needed an amazing multi-grip bar in Escape from New York this would be it. With its thick gauge steel, fat welds and black matte powder coat, our multi-grip bar feels like a cross between an intimidating weapon Snake shoves in your face and the mad inspiration a chop shop welder took from a cowcatcher. Get ready to inject some garage grit into your workouts.

We've Got Some Pull (and Press)

When you're in that oil puddle on the cracked concrete garage floor mood, take a handoff from us with our football bar. With its 3 grip positions, you're provided a slew of new workout variants for pushing and pulling lifts.

  • The "pronated" position, when your palms are facing forward, is what causes the shoulder pain for some lifters doing a pressing movement. With the multi-grip barbell, the lifter can use a neutral hand position to allow some relief to those injured areas. There are two neutral hand positions included on this barbell.
  • Heavier loads and muscles targeted at new and different angles means unpredictability and fresh gains. We love doing close grip bench presses, skull crushers, hammer grip curls, front raises and incline front raises with our multi-grip bar here at Fringe headquarters.
  • Our multi-grip barbell has 3 angled handle positions, varying in widths. 26", 18", and 10.5". This allows you to add variation to your workout and comfort to your joints.
  • The sturdy center handle has a solid ring so you can attach the bar to cable pulleys and use it for various pull-down exercises - we make it double duty!!
  • One of the reasons this barbell is referred to by some as a "football" barbell is it is used in football training so the players (after injury and abuse on the field) can comfortably do the bench press movement without pain.
  • This barbell measures almost 86 inches long total and with 40 inches between the sleeves and can be racked on most squat racks on the market. If the rack has a width between 40 and 43 inches, you can rack this bar with no problems at all!

If you're looking to give your workouts an octane boost, you've got your solution right here. If this bar needed jerk blocks they would be a pair of old, beat up, 55-gallon drums. If this bar needed a ride, it would be from a Jeep Wrangler. If this bar needed a new garage, it would be yours.

The new version of our multigrip bar has longer sleeves that bolt on to the body for a larger loadable length - plus you can remove the sleeves for better storage. And this longer length makes the bar easy to rack on most racks out there!

Plus the 770 pound weight capacity means you can hit those gains - and more - with this specialty bar in your gym!

And the sleek matte black powder coated steel will withstand years and years of workouts, while the chrome plated sleeves will stay shiny, no matter how many hundreds of pounds of plates you slide on and off over and over and over.

Caution: This bar may provoke bouts of newfound temerity. And not a little jealousy from your friends and neighbors who get an eyeful of it!

Great product but had damage to the item

Received the item today and it was packed very well. There were bubble wrap on all the items and well protected. It leads me to believe that the damage was already there before it got to me. It doesn’t hender the performance of the barbell. This would been a 5 star but I gave it a 2 star due to it being damaged. Would I recommend this barbell, yes I would.

Several defects, but, on sale, decent value

Got it for $178 total on sale, Nov. 2023.

The good:

I only bench with this bar now. Game changer. Mvt just feels so much more natural. Gives grip variety, more ROM, much less stress on joints, although some when using wide grip.

I use it also for bent over rows. There too, great grip variety and way better on joints. For seal rows, the camber limits ROM at top, with camber bumping in to bottom of bench "sooner" than with regular BB.

And I also use it for seated OHP. Same as above. But cambered grip frame is wide. Be careful and clear bar away from face, lol.

Would like to use it for pull-ups, but even rackedi in J-cups at top holes, bar is too low for my height (6'3").

The negative:

1. One of the grips has a much more aggressive knurling, an obvious error. I was gonna cover it, and its counterpart, with athletic tape, but realized that this did not bother me that much, not at all AAMoF, so left them untaped.

2. Some finish damage on camber.

3. Rack clearance. I use a Fringe Garage Series Squat Rack. I had to add collars to the inside of the bar's sleeves in order to avoid bumping plates on my safeties as clearance is very tight. Reracking has to be pretty precise. Luckily, I lift real light and controlled.

Look for yt reviews of similar products.
Because of camber, this will not be any good for bicep curls or pull overs.

I have seen real happy with the other Fringe products I had bought two years ago: bumper plates, bar, said rack with dip attachment. All good quality with good welds and finishes. Perfect for a recreational general fitness enthusiast.

Hope this review helps.

Go with Rogue or Elitefts

Poor quality control, I’ve seen better welds on Titan equipment. Spray paint on the powder coat to cover the inconsistencies. It arrived banged up and chipped, sent photos to customer service and will never buy anymore of their products.

Awesome bar!

I researched multi grip bars for a long time and looked at all of the popular brands before deciding on this one and I’m really happy with my selection. The camber gives a great stretch and the grip placements and angles are perfect for shoulder comfort. I definitely recommend it if you’re on the fence.

Functionality of the bar is 5 Stars

First, quickly shipped and packed perfectly. Heft of the bar and ease of putting it together deserves 5 Stars. For a person with shoulder issues, it is a nice product to keep you doing presses. I would love a slightly greater gap between the first two handles for close grip, but that’s a first world problem. The only minus of the product is the flaking of the chrome on the sleeve. I have put a few shavings into my hands handling or loading the bar. No big deal for the hands, but my kids sometimes are in the area and I have to make sure the floor is swept and they know to stay away from the bar.

Good overall!

Overall good experience. Some of the welds and machining were not so great on the bar I received, and there were multiple dings both on the bar and the sleeves. However, like always, Fringe offered me options to make it right and resolved it to my satisfaction. Grip angles are good, and this bar is a good variation to straight bar presses. TL:DR - solid Swiss bar with minor issues mitigated by fantastic customer service. Fringe is cooler than the other side of the pillow.

This is a great bar. Shipping and packaging was great. Very happy with it.

Great

For the price nothing better. 45 lbs. knurled handles, regular Olympic sleeves. Sound simple but that is not common on a lot of cambered bars. V2 needs angled ends to help it slide into the rack better.

swiss bar

It was on sale for $180. For 180 bucks it's a steal. It weighs exactly 40lbs (as it says), ti's stiff, the handles are nice and well spaces and it's solid. The bolts to make it much more shippable do sometimes hit the edge of the rack. meh, ti's a rack. (rep rack BTW, fits fine). For $300..............I dunno, but for $180 for a specialty bar that will outlast me, it's a smoking deal.

Well…

The bar is well-built and offers a wide variety of exercises. I gave it three stars because it doesn’t fit on the j-cups on my cage. I know it’s my fault for not measuring, but since my cage is a fringe cage I didn’t think there was any way that they would make a bar that didn’t fit one of their own cages. I was wrong.

Good bar, one gripe

I like the bar, except for one thing. One of the six grips has a completely different knurl which is annoying. I actually like the extra grip on it, but don’t like that it doesn’t match the rest.

Great deal. Love it.

I knew I wanted a cambered Swiss bar. I compared a bunch and this was the most similar to the big, expensive K. bar but was much less expensive. I had never ordered anything from Fringe before and couldn't find any reviews for this bar. I took the risk and ordered it and am SO GLAD that I did. I love this bar. I now use it for most of my benching and overhead bar work. I wish the knurl were more aggressive because the coating doesn't feel great on my hands, but I use chalk and it works fine. It's my favorite specialty bar.

Love this bar

I honestly think it's superior to the Arch Nemesis Bar, and the price difference is negligible. While the Arch Nemesis would cost me around $220 with tax, Fringe doesn't charge tax (at least to me), so their bar only costs $50 more. While some items at Fringe Sport are overpriced, I don't believe this is one of them. For the extra $50, you get a few notable upgrades, including removable sleeves (which I personally don't use), chrome sleeves, and a heavier bar that weighs 40 lbs, making it much closer in weight to a regular 45 lb bar. In my opinion, these features make it worth the extra money in the long run. However, if you're on a tight budget, this may not be the best option for you. Overall, I highly recommend this bar!

Delivery sucks

3 weeks after purchasing item it has not been shipped even though the company says it has. All that has really happened is they created a label. No product has been delivered to the shipper.

Better Get One!

I purchased this bar hoping it would work for me, due to my rack not being the standard size in width. Unfortunately it did not fit, but I just loved this bar and did couple of work outs. It was too difficult to use without being able to rack it...it's a hefty bar! Great for curling and reverse bench press...if it fits your cage. Regret not being able to keep it. And for your info, it is knurled!

Try it...YOU will LIKE it!

I purchased this bar basically to do bench presses and rows due to shoulder pain. It is built very well and with knurling, and fits the hand/grip just right. With the multiple grips you can get an awesome workout just benching...turn it around and do reverse press for the triceps, close grip, center bars. The bar is heavy at 46lbs, so be sure you have somewhere to store it. I wanted to just keep it on my rack, but unfortunate for me my rack is not the standard with...the bar would not sit on the J hooks evenly...one side on, the other side off. I tried to work with it however, I had to return it because it was too difficult to bench when the bar doesn't fit on the rack. I ended up getting a much lighter one, and not built as sturdy, which would fit my rack. I only wish I knew of FringeSports when I first decided to build my Garage Gym!This company is great to work with, and with free shipping you can't go wrong, and with the sales they have like the Garage Gym Deals, you really can't go wrong. I'm temped to just get one of these deals and sell the rack I have now.Great products, Great Company...a win win for the customer and the company!

Multi-Grip, Multi-Purpose

The different grips will strengthen your muscles at different angles, which in turn makes you more functional.

If you consider the size and shape of multi-grip bars, they can be more unstable than regular straight barbells, requiring your muscles to work more towards keeping your body stabilized and staying tight.

The multi-grip bar or "football bar" can be used for different movements. The main press movements, as we mentioned earlier, bench press, incline press, floor press, and overhead press, as well as bent over rows and even curls and skullcrushers.

This newly designed bar is branded "Fringe Sport" on the side in the powder coating. And you can rack this bar on any rack so it stays sturdy, no matter what lifts, moves or grooves you want to do with this amazing, multi-grip, multipurpose bar.
