Moves a lot

The item does not go to well with the Dan 2.0 even though it is advertised. The attachment will move a lot when seated and pulling weight… to a point where it almost hinders the pull. Also you have to move the pulley cables out of the way to even attached. I would honestly like to return the attachment. Can customer care please contact me.

Lat Seat

It's pretty nice. To address the "slop" others have talked about they provide 2 shims now. I put both on and it was too tight, one has a little bit of wiggle. Not real sure if it had less play if that would be a good thing as it would end up too tight. No regrets.

poor seat for Dane design

This seat feels like it was made in a rush without regard to its functionality. I can not recommend. This seat was meant for their Dane or Dane 2, but long before all the other hardware (such as the Drew or Gibbons) were available, it simply sits too far up the Dane to allow meaningful arm extension with a pull-down activity. If you are 5 foot 6 inches or shorter, this may work for you. Anyone taller and your arms will not be able to fully extend. A better design would have had a downward angled attachment that allowed the seat to be lower to the footplates.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and such thoughtful feedback. We understand how important full range of motion and proper fit are, and we appreciate you explaining what didn’t work well for your setup. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us at team@fringesport.com so we can further help.

No longer wiggles

Just got them installed after getting them in earlier today. Love them! Myseat no longer wiggles at all. Who would have thought those small little UHMWinterests would do the trick.

Lat Pull Down Seat

I used 1 of the 2 shims sent. The seat definitely fits better on the stainless steel upright. It is snug without being difficult to attach. It seemed like if I installed both shims I might have difficulty getting the lat seat in place, but I might try that soon. One of the issues I did notice before adding the shim was that the seat would raise a bit on heavier sets when pulling down. This still happens with the shim, but it is less noticeable. I think in order to completely solve this problem, shims designed for the near-side (closest to the person) would have to be added, but it doesn't bother me very much at all. The addition of the shim definitely improves the feel of the seat. I really appreciate you reaching out and sending the shims to improve my experience with your equipment! The Dane has become the focal point of our basement gym and my wife and I love everything that it can do, and I think it's great that you are continuing to try to improve customer experiences with your stuff.

Great

It’s working great for me. I do notice the slight movement during lat pull downs, but it’s not an issue. Also, I use this for leg extensions. I install it in hole #8 and sit backwards (facing away from the Dane). Then I use a resistance band connected to the crossmember in the back, other end to an ankle strap. This has really helped develop the front of my knees and quads. The drawback here is that the seat is not long enough, but hey it wasn’t designed for leg day.

Hi! We actually have a fix for that! I'll reach you out through email so we can send you the extra UHMW shims!

After getting the shims

When I first received the product I felt ripped off as it rocked on every rep of heavy lat pull downs but after complaining to the company they made it right. They sent out a few shims (that should probably just be shipped with the product) and those shims cause it to squeeze in nice and tight giving the seat no play during a heavy set of lat pull downs.

Disappointing amount of slop in an otherwise well-built product

Got this in a Dane 2.0 package and it's been really disappointing the lack of finesse they put into the design here. I understand they were going for maximum compatibility, but there is an enormous amount of slop in this seat on the Dane. The build quality is fantastic, the seat is well padded and the knee rollers are just the right amount of firm and comfortable, which is why it's baffling to me that they didn't correct the slop. What's astounding to me is that it would have been INCREDIBLY simple, and very cheap, for them to correct this issue simply by including a cheap shim kit or varying thicknesses of the UHMW pads, so that the seat could be adjusted for a snug fit to whichever rack you use. The fact that this simple fix was not included, or even offered as an option, or god forbid if they wanted to be even cheaper and not INCLUDE a shim kit, but just have an option when ordering for different pad kits to ensure it fits your rack correctly? Mind blowing. My current fix is simply to attach a short, modified ratchet strap to the set and crank it down to the front leg on the Dane. It's kludgy, takes too long to set up, and is super annoying for something I'm only doing for 3-5 sets at a time before immediately removing it, but it DOES at least prevent the seat from hopping around like a toddler on crack.

We do offer those UHMW Shims for free to create a much more snug fit for the Lat Pulldown seats on the Dane's uprights. We would reach out to you via email so we can confirm your shipping address and send you those UHMW fix.

Wish I would’ve read the reviews

Buying the dane 2.0 after extensive research, I was confident in my purchase that I threw in the lat pulldown seat in confidence that it was going to be money well spent. Was I wrong on that one, there is so much vertical flop in this thing that every rep I’m more focused on trying not to get the thing to flop around rather than being focused on the actual exercise itself. If I would’ve known this I would’ve went with a different brand. I can not recommend this product, look elsewhere for a lat seat for your Dane 2.0

It’s fairly good after contacting fringe

When I first bought it my experience was bad. The vertical play up and down was noticeable on every single rep. So bad I wished I had just used the Dane without it and put a pipe on my lap with my bench. After I attempted to leave my first review the company contacted me wanting to make things right which in my eyes is an A+ from customer service. After they sent some spacers to make the seat have 0 play in it the thing works like a charm. My only other complaint that would make it a true five star product is a pin that is similar to the spotter arms and trolleys. It really feels unnecessary to have to put a pin in every time to remove all horizontal play when the company designed such good retractable ones.

Vertical wobble

The seat works well if you're able to bandaid fix the wobble. I have been using a heavy duty door stop to wedge between the upright and the seat. The problem is that I shouldn't have to do that, especially for the price and even more so, since I'm using it with the rack (dane) that it was designed for. For the price I'd personally spend a little more and get a more stable and versatile seat.

We've sent you an email so we can assist you further. Please feel free to continue the conversation in that thread, we're here to help resolve any concerns you may have.

Great Product

Would be much better if the seat had more depth for someone taller.
