There are a few things to note for the Axle Barbell.
- This is a true strongman axle / fat bar - there is no knurling on the bar.
- The 2" diameter includes the shaft of the bar, explaining the "fat bar" nickname.
- This is one, solid bar. The collars do not rotate.

Axle bars or "fat bars" have long been used in strongman competitions. There are two unique aspects to fatbar training:
- The grip area on the bar is way thicker (about 2") than an Olympic barbell - this makes most exercises into forearm blasters, and makes everything harder.
- The collars do not rotate- so going ground-to-shoulder or ground-to-overhead is much harder than with an Oly barbell. For heavy weights, you may even need to use the dreaded "continental clean" instead of a standard clean to get the weight to shoulder.

Also mine was painted in the center and where the knurl would start/stop in between powerlifting rings. That was cool.
It is pretty loud when dropping, but that's just how you know you're strong. Powdercoat p nice.

Love it. It was packed very well. Love the end caps. Although there are markings to help guide your hand placement, I would prefer a laser etched marking. Theres only one color which is ok, but it would be nice to see more options. So far, it's been a great gym peice. I've been using it to build my grip strength and can definitely feel the difference. I've been using it regularly in my routines.

Nice I love that it has a gripper powder coat and the 20kg bar weight is nice bet it make traditional plate math and bar loafing easier

Ordered this one and the 22lb fat bar for my wife. Bottom line, it’s what I wanted and needed. It did, however, have an amateur-looking gold paint scheme on it, which I wasn’t expecting. Thought about giving it 4 stars for that, but that would be dumb. At the end of the day it’s a tool for a job not a fashion show. It gets the job done just fine.

Yaw! This bar be legit for heavy zerchers. Wider in the pocket of the forearm feel good!!Standard barbells too thin, cut the flesh! Fat bar, love you right!

Deadlifting with this bar is awesome. It still rolls to you even with welded collars, but it amazing to press with it

These just hit different, trust me, you can feel a difference when you're putting more effort into just handling the bar. Use if for variation, I also use it to do sandbag drops over. Love this thing and a great price!

Fringe originally sent me the wrong bar and shipped me the original bar after sending the other one back and also gave me a $20 gift card for my troubles. Awesome customer service!! This gave me an excuse to order the Mammoth Belt Squat, ha! The axle bar is great! I highly recommend their 20kg axle vs all the cheaper 20lb bars out there. Been using it in place of all Olympic bar lifts to mix it up a bit.

The quality is high, being a more solid bar than a typical axle. Also, the painted hand lines were unexpected, and a nice touch. Received it a few days after ordering, would use fringe again.

I got this axle bar after using fat grips for a couple of months, and it is a massive improvement. I love that it’s 20KG. The powder coat feels very nice, and it has helpful lines at the center, where knurling would start, and where power lifting rings would be. This makes bar and hand placement very easy.Bar feels very solid in the hands and I just used it for a new bench PR. It felt great!IMO, this is the bar to get for most people wanting an axle bar. Any nicer bar costs more than twice as much, and this is much better than other bars in a similar price range.

When I bought 2 of these I was so excited. They were heavier, took normal collars and had markings which was worth gold to me! However, after only a few months of use 1 is already bent. We do not misuse the bars. We use bumper plates and crash pads. Our 25lb rogue bars lasted longer than these

This bar far exceeded my expectations. The price on this bar for what I received was of exception value. The gold markings make this bar look better than more expensive bars like Rogues. At the same time, the quality of the metal, the weight, weight capacity to load for heavy axle deadlifts, and standard size so I can use regular olympic clamps, make this one of the best value purchases in my garage gym.

Replacement of a 1 inch standard barbell. Works perfectly. No more bending, longer, so much better.

I use the Fat bar, quite a bit. I mix it in for bench press variants and land mine training. It is my go to for combining the bar with Henny attachment. The bar is more than durable and the finish is comfortable in the hands. My favorite add-on that actually gets used. - SR

I brought this axle with me to train in the gym of a certain 4x WSM winner a few years back. It survived a LOT of abuse over the 2 years I trained there. The thing is solid, the powder coat gives you some solid grip without the aggressiveness of a knurl, and it's nice because it weight about the same as a standard barbell so math is easier. Can't recommend it enough. The only thing that finally killed it was getting dropped from a lockout at probably 9 feet in the air with 400 pounds and wagon wheels on the bar. I miss the thing so much I'm considering buying a new one for my current gym.
