The Longhorn Bar: A Game-Changer for Squats & Pressing

The Longhorn Bar is a cambered barbell built for lifters who want to squat heavier, press deeper, and train pain-free. Its unique 3.75” drop lowers the weight distribution, increasing control while reducing strain on your shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Whether you're recovering from an injury, dealing with tight shoulders, or just want a more natural lifting position, this bar is designed to make your training smoother and more effective. On the bench, the camber allows for a greater range of motion, giving your chest and stabilizers an intense stretch that leads to serious strength gains.

Protect Your Shoulders While Squatting

Traditional straight bars force your shoulders into a deeply externally rotated position during squats, which can be brutal if you lack mobility or have pre-existing pain. The Longhorn Bar’s cambered design solves this problem by allowing for a more relaxed grip, taking pressure off your rotator cuffs and elbows. The lower weight placement naturally reduces instability, meaning you don’t have to fight the bar as much to stay upright. This makes it easier to maintain a stronger, more upright squat posture, reducing spinal compression and making heavy lifts feel more controlled.

Built Tougher Than a Longhorn

Crafted from high-strength steel, the Longhorn Bar features a 32mm shaft diameter, striking the perfect balance between stability and comfort. The medium-to-slightly aggressive knurling ensures a secure grip without excessive hand abrasion, making it ideal for both squats and pressing movements. The black chrome finish not only gives the bar a sleek, high-end look but also provides superior resistance to rust and corrosion—perfect for garage gyms or humid environments.

Open box camber bar 50% off

Overall: Awesome bar and with the sale incredible value

Very minor scuff to one sleeve and one very small spot where the knurling got compressed (do not notice it while in use) probably shipping related, especially as an open box, this thing travelled twice back and forth, and packaging needs to be improved. None of this affects function whatsoever and the bar still looks great

I love the 32 mm diameter and the knurling is great, I get no slip with squat or bench. It is very long so make sure to measure your space.

Since getting this I have come to prefer it for squats over my rogue power bar. You can get a very nice stretch on bench but i use it primarily for accessory work and not as my main bench bar

Squatting and benching with this thing is a game changer. Best value for a Buffalo bar.

Better than Duffalo?

I have owned a few bars like this at various Price points. The one I have is the new summer 2023 model and it’s much better in my opinion than the previous version. I really like the bow / bends in the bar exactly the same angle as my duffalo and I prefer the knurling and black coating on the new black coating on the new Fringe model. It’s also about half the price and is in stock and ready to ship with free shipping. No 17 week lead times which if definitely another positive. Great bar at a great price!

Great bar. Terrible, terrible packing.

Using this bar for squats has been a revelation, it's so much more comfortable and if you're on the fence I would highly recommend it. It is almost certainly a five-star bar. But this was definitely the worst packed piece of fitness equipment I have ever received. I know shipping is "free" (no doubt it is built in to the cost of the bar), but this was inexcusable. The bar came in a thin rectangular cardboard box. The box was torn completely in half, with the bar exposed. It looks like UPS tried to scotch tape it back together, with no success. The only internal protection was a plastic bag around the bar. No foam or anything like that. As a result, the collars have some dings, and there was scratching on the sleeves. There are a few dings on the knurling, but they don't seem to be too much of an issue. Like I said, cosmetic damage, but when you spend hundreds of dollars on a piece of equipment, you expect it to arrive in great shape.

Just buy it already

Longhorn BarI practically stole this bar from Fringe during their garage sale. It arrived with a few dings on the collars and knurling but no biggie. This was pretty clearly disclosed under the garage sale promo and it’s about to see some serious use anyway. So far I have used this for squats, good mornings, and bench. It’s absolutely amazing for all three. I find myself looking for any reason to use it and can tell this is going to be a mainstay. The build quality is great and the knurling is spot on. Not overly aggressive but still grippy. I was worried about the stability after reading some of the other reviews, but on my 41” 3x3 rack it’s as stable as any other bar. Absolutely no issues loading and unloading plates. All in all it’s a great buy. Would absolutely purchase it again.

Same issues as everyone else

Seems really fantastic so far, weight had drastically gone down to what I used to do, a lot of my pec feels stretched at the bottom, shoulders seem a bit more worked as well, same for my wrists trying to keep it balanced. Biggest issue just like everyone else my package came absolutely destroyed with scratches and marks that won't be going away. I do hope the life time warranty is true here, but still it's fantastic just be warned that packaging needs work.

5/5 Stars – A Texas-Sized Win for Lifters

I've been lifting for the better part of a 2 decades and owned a gym for 10+ years, so I've tried a lot of different specialty bars, and the Fringe Sport Longhorn Bar has quickly become one of my favorites - it's made for lifters, sturdy enough for commercial use, and priced really reasonably. First off, the camber is perfect—noticeable enough to relieve shoulder and wrist strain on squats but not so aggressive that it feels awkward. It's awesome for a low bar squatters obviously but also a rad addition to our lineup for high bar squatters that need more back engagement in getting outta the hole and it's also a solid bench bar for long range of motion (like a deficit but for bench press!)The knurling is just right—grippy without shredding your hands—and the quality of the finish is solid. I’ve had it for a few months now and it still looks great, love how it's breaking in and it's quickly becoming a "favorite" of our powerlifters - like, maybe they don't love it, but it's effective hella type II fun. The bar feels super sturdy under load, not whippy up to even 90% of 1RM for our bigger lifters which feels correct. Solid bar with clean attention to detail and what lifters actually want in a product. Also, shoutout to Fringe Sport for killer customer service and fast shipping. It’s clear they actually care about the lifting community. If you’re looking for a Texas Power Bar-style upgrade that’s easy on the joints but tough as nails, the Longhorn bar is 100% worth it. Highly recommend for gym owners (commercial or home) and serious lifters alike.

A PURCHASE THAT WAS LONG OVERDUE

My initial impression was that it's quite a bit longer than any of my other bars (I have several). It also has a greater diameter. These differences coupled with the actual curve of the bar, made it so that there was a learning curve, so to speak, which I would need to allow myself some time to adapt to. Now that I have used it a half dozen times, I can confidently state that this was a great purchase and that I look forward to squatting every week with this. It allows me the shoulder dexterity that I was hoping for. The more I use it, the more I appreciate it.Big shout out to Akeal, whose customer service is 2nd to none. This purchase was largely due to his attention to my questions and needs. Thank you Akeal!

BEYOND THE PRODUCT

I like to have several workouts with an item before I give a proper review and will do so in the near future. The review I am leaving today is on my experience with Fringe Sports, the company. I have had a home gym for decades and own products from most, if not all the different companies offering gym equipment. I can say, without any reservations, that Fringe Sports has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Because of this, they will always be in the top of my consideration when I’m looking for equipment. Thank you for truly caring about your customers!

Better than anticipated

I ordered the longhorn bar for added versatility to my workouts, increase the amount of stretch in pressing exercises, as well as the additional hope that it would also help my aching shoulders. I’m very happy to say I have truly enjoyed using the bar and have felt noticeable improvement in my shoulder cuff irritation after using. I’m satisfied with the fit and finish and the only draw back I can come up with is how it seats in my j-cups. I was able to use a piece of high density plastic to wedge into the sides to create an angle to match the bar and that seems to be the best fix for now.

Holds up in a commercial gym setting

We've had this bar for a little over a year now in a commercial gym. No issues at all and people have been loading it up heavy for squats. One of our members who squats over 650lbs likes to use it. It's also become very popular with our members on incline bench. I was surprised that the black finish on the shaft hasn't faded at all. Other brands of Ecoat or black zinc I've seen fade after a few months. Only issue was packaging, as parts of the shaft were poking out through the box when we received it and that caused a couple of minor scuffs.

Longhorn Camber Barbell

Wanted a second bar for my home gym to go with my old Olympic bar. With my wife lifting as well as myself, makes it easier to have a second bar for other setups. Decided to try the buffalo bar to add some variety to bench press and squats. Very happy with purchase. Very solid construction and high quality. Would recommend.

Worth the money

Bar is great I love it. The proce was very good and the quality surpassed my expectations. The packaging was not great. Box came in horrible shape. Bar is good and not gonna complain too much about the light scuffs it got.

Why spend the extra on the Duffalo bar when this is a near copy? At half the cost? Super happy with the quality and how easy Fringe was to deal with when asking about this bar.

Awesome bar

Fringe Sport Longhorn bar is the best bar I’ve used for someone with a bad shoulder. The finish and coating are great as long as you keep up with it by oiling it and cleaning it. Also, just wanted to add in this review that Fringer Sport Customer Service is 2nd to none. Super friendly and knowledgeable.

Awesome bar! Couldn't believe how well done the knurling was. Had to email fringe since it wasn't posted, but the bar has a weight capacity of 1500 lbs. Will definitely handle anything you can throw at it!

Longhorn bar

I’ve been using the longhorn bar for three weeks and it’s fantastic. I’ve used it primarily for squats, but it’s been great for bench too. It will actually help your position in squats or at least it improved mine. Great quality like everything I have from Fringe.

Exactly what I needed at an affordable price compared to other similar bars.
