Beastly 320lb Weight Stack
The Walrus comes with a 320lb weight stack that uses a true 1:1 pulley system - so when you lift 100lbs, it actually feels like 100lbs. No confusing ratios, just real resistance. You can adjust the weight in 10lb steps, starting from 10lbs all the way up to 320lbs, making it easy to find the right challenge for every set.

Smooth Trolley & Adjustable Handle Positions
The Walrus features a smooth-glide trolley system that lets you easily adjust the handle height and cable length - no need to pause or reset between exercises. Whether you're doing full-range rows, vertical Lat pulldowns, or short, powerful pulls, the cable adjusts to match your movement. Once set, the trolley locks in place securely, giving you full control over your grip, range, and angle every time.

Switch From Pulldowns to Rows With Ease
The Walrus has a one-hand folding seat that flips up or down in seconds - no tools, no bolts, just seamless transitions between movements. The pulley system that features less friction and drag, allowing for fluid motion and better control throughout each rep. Aside from performance the Walrus provides a robust yet sleek aesthetic that's perfect for home and commercial gym.
You’ll unlock true Lat pulldowns, low rows, face pulls, triceps pushdowns, curls, cable crunches, and dozens more. Vertical and horizontal pulls, all in one footprint.
A 1:1 pulley ratio means the weight you select is the actual weight you feel when lifting or pulling.
If you’re doing a lat pulldown and select 100lbs, you will feel exactly 100lbs of resistance. Some functional trainers have a 2:1 ratio, meaning selecting 100lbs would actually feel like 50lbs because the pulley system reduces the load.
A 1:1 ratio is great for strength training because it provides a more realistic resistance, similar to free weights.
The footprint is just 26" wide × 33" deep—roughly 4.41 square feet. That’s half the space of two separate machines.
Absolutely. The smooth-glide trolley system lets you micro-adjust cable height and stroke length on the fly for any body type or training style.
Super easy. The one-hand folding seat flips up or down in seconds—no tools, no bolts, just seamless transitions between movements.
Yes. The tower includes a lat bar handle, and the cable ends accept all standard carabiner-based cable attachments.

Great value. Heavy duty and should last forever.
The Walrus came in one large wooden box. The box had a few areas where the wood was smashed but everything came unscathed. Assembly was not the easiest. The instructions and video weren't as clear as I wish they were, but I got it together without too much frustration. The lower cable gave me some trouble. It runs through the supports and I found it difficult to fish it around the lower pully. I will still play with the cables to figure out the best tension for me. I feel that after a couple of months, Fringe will put out a revised video that will clear things up. I wish that the lower cable was pre-installed. The Walrus deserves 5 stars . It's heavy duty, works well and is constructed using excellent materials. After looking at competing machines, the Walrus is a great deal. There are a couple of small issues putting this thing together. I attribute these to the machine being brand new. Bottom line, I'm happy with my purchase.
Solid With Some Flaws
The Walrus is a heavy duty piece of gym kit! I was debating getting a separate lat pull and low row station so that I don’t have to sit on the ground such as the budget friendly York offerings. The flip down seat is obviously the major selling point of this machine for me as it doesn’t make you compromise one station over the other and the other. If you are use to a commercial gym this machine absolutely matches the smoothness of those and I believe the pulling weight is more accurate since I can do slightly less on the Walrus. The steel is true 11-gauge with no issues, but there was a few signs of marring on the paint since it isn’t shipped in great packaging. Also the lat bar that comes with it is nice in my opinion since I didn’t have one and typically use MAG grips. Now onto the biggest gripe, the cable retention and durability. If you do not have a heavy enough pull down bar up top the cable will sag and come undone at the bottom of the unit. If you don’t catch it before you row the cable may be off the rollers which could shred the coating on that heavy duty steel. Happened once to me and honestly a separate piece of metal channel or a guide that you can remove for maintenance would seem to prevent this. Hopefully there’s a fix or retrofit for it down the line as I believe the very similar machine from ATX doesn’t do this. The odd part is that my cable may be faulty since I noticed the cable up over the top pulley right by where you attach handles to is starting to look chewed up despite it not having any interference issues unlike the bottom issues. Other than that it was a must buy for a guy whose favorite day is back day. The gripes are offset by the fact that it costs $1,000 less than the next machine that is similar!
Walrus - 3.5 stars
I recently purchased the Fringe Sport Walrus and wanted to share my experience so far: Shipping & Packaging The product arrived pretty beat up. The crate had parts scattered everywhere, and there were quite a few minor scuffs on the components. Nothing was functionally damaged, but I was a little disappointed with the overall packaging and condition upon arrival. Installation & Setup Installation was relatively straightforward overall, but the instructions and the YouTube video left out a few key steps. I had to spend some extra time figuring things out, which was a bit frustrating. That said, Fringe Sport’s customer support was very helpful when I reached out, and they quickly clarified what I needed. Cable System Performance This is where my experience has been mixed. The cable system works fine, but it isn’t as smooth as I expected—especially when working with lighter weights. I previously had the Bells of Steel system, which was noticeably smoother in comparison. One thing worth noting is that the cable can have some slack if there are no attachments to hold it in place. It hasn’t caused any problems yet, but I have concerns about this. Final Thoughts Overall, the Walrus is a solid piece of equipment once it’s set up, but the experience hasn’t been flawless. The scuffed parts, missing instruction details, and slightly less-smooth cable system were disappointing at this price point. However, the build quality feels good, customer support was responsive, and I’m confident it’ll hold up well long-term.
