Now Back to the Actual Cage at Hand

You may be familiar with our Garage Series Squat Rack w/ Pullup Bar and now we've added a Squat Cage to the roster.

Now this Squat Cage is Garage Series for a reason. If you are a lifting over 700lbs, that's awesome but I would recommend our Commercial Power Cage over this one.

Never Just a Rat in a Cage!

You'll never feel like just rat in a cage with our Garage Series power rack. In fact, you might feel like you've walked into the Thunderdome instead and that your barbell has become an oversized war hammer.

This freestanding power rack boasts our trademark durability, ruggedness and sturdiness. Once you step inside this power rack moonlighting as a construction elevator, you'll give yourself a lift, and go right to the top of your game.

  • A pair of UHMW-lined J-Cups that can be used in the front or back of either side of the uprights. The UHMW will protect your barbell throughout all your workouts.(Metric #4 Allen wrench to replace UHMW). Jcups themselves hold up the 700#.
  • Weight Horns on either side of the cage. Conveniently store your weights so they're ready to use. They boast 13" of loadable space. Bonus, the weight will add extra stability to this already sturdy rack.
  • Adjustable Safety Spotter Arms give you peace of mind if you want to lift heavy during a solo personal best.
  • The uprights are 2" x 2" with 1" holes and numbered so it's easier to align accessories.
  • Two different diameter pull-up bars - one standard 1.25" and one "fat" 2" diameter.
  • The footprint on this cage is roughly 4ft by 4ft - great for smaller spaces.

Unfortunately, no. The uprights on this cage are 2 x 2 and the 2x3 would be too big.

Seems Solid - Some Bent Braces

The squat rack seems solid enough, though a couple of the 'T' sections that are bolted together to join different pieces of the rack were bent. It looks like it was a bend due to the heat of welding, but it could have happened during shipping as well. This means things are slightly tweaked on the right side of my rack, to where the safety catches want to snag when being inserted and withdrawn.

Other than that slight issue, the rack is great. It is solid and shows very little motion when being used for pullups with weight on the back to hold it down.

Best cage I've ever had

When you want to talk about getting absolute quality equipment at great pricing, that also has fantastic employees that go above and beyond look no further than here. Was lucky to grab the squat cage on a flash deal and have not been disappointed. Sturdy. Easy to put together. Tough as nails. An absolute perfect fit for the garage gym. Everybody in my household uses this cage, My wife myself and now even my little daughter as I added some rings to it for her. Having some of the best and fastest shipping in the business also is a huge plus and I'm always happy to be a loyal fringe customer

A decent enough cage.

Shipped much faster than I expected - great on that!

Build quality is about what I would expect for the price - most of the "tabs" on the uprights and cross-struts were bent, so had to spend some time with a vice and a torch to get them square.

Two of the uprights were creased due to poor packaging, so I know where it's going to buckle if (when) I "hard rack" a bar. May try to overweld a strengthener, may just hope it survives...

Pull-up bars are fairly common on cages these days, though to really do a pull-up on this one you have to be 5' 5" or under. At 5' 10" the bar hits me mid-forearm, so I have to fold my knees back to get a full extension pull-up.

All in all, it's average, the big seller being the low cost (I got exactly what I paid for) and saving floor space by not needing a second rig for pull-ups (with some mods to my form).

Pros: sturdy but not too heavy, pull up bar is the right height for me (5’5”), fits underneath my garage door track,Cons: The assembly instructions could be more detailed, it’s impossible not to scratch the safety bars when adjusting their height and sounds like fingernails on a chalk board.

Excellent Addition - Far exceeded my expectations

I am very pleased with this purchase. I received it quickly and it arrived very well packaged. As I unpacked everything and laid it out for assembly, I was impressed with the quality for this price point. I had seen several imported cages at big box sports stores and was expecting similar. This unit is a much more substantial build.Assembly was straight forward and took me an hour or so. Everything fit and the finish is more than acceptable. Some previous comments remarked on the bolt flanges being slightly warped from the weld process. Whereas I saw a little of this also, everything pulled into place perfectly on the final tightening of all the hardware. End result is a very solid and sturdy cage that will serve me for quite a while that didn't break the bank. No, it doesn't quite spec out with the high dollar stuff, but so what? If I ever exceed 600lbs lifts, I will consider it a huge win and treat myself to a new toy to celebrate. Until then, I have an awesome cage and lefover jack to accessorize..

Great Home gym equipment

I wanted a rack for doing overhead presses, bench presses, and squats, that also would help us expand to using bands and straps for total body fitness. This one ticks all the boxes, was affordable, and was fairly easy to assemble. The rack also came quickly and was packed great. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a rack like this

Medium size perfect

At 5’7” (170cm), this is a perfect size and value. It’s easy to assemble and is solid. I fully loaded my bar (~450lbs, 205kg), and the rack showed no signs of weakness or instability. That said, my giant powerlifter cousin would barely even fit in the rack, let alone be able to use it. If you’re over 6’ (180cm), get a bigger rack. Also, the 2x2 frame reduces options for attachments. That’s not a big deal for me, but could bother those who are solely focused on lifting. If your rack is just for the basics and you’re not a bruiser, this is a great value.

3 years going strong

Really happy with the squat cage. Got it during the pandemic and still working like a charm. I am not a professional power lifter but can throw some weight on the bar. Have always felt secure and safe in this squat rack. Highly recommend for your lifter just trying to stay in shape.

I’m a Believer

When I order this rack I was hopeful that it was going to be stable. But now I am longer hopeful, because it has exceeded my expectations. I’m a believer. This rack is extremely stable and I am so pleased. But, make sure you have another person helping you assemble it. It took two of us about an hour and 20 minutes.

Great Cage

This is a great cage! I was a little hesitant since it is 2 X 2, but it is very strong and stable. I use it for bench presses and squats at around 200 lbs and it could easily handle far more. I also use it for pull ups and it is very stable, doesn't sway or move the slightest. Would highly recommend it for a garage gym.

Fits our needs

Easy to order, shipped quickly. We're using as a family gym in our workshop. Just turning 50 parents and 2 teenage sons. Easy to assemble and just what we need to keep from paying a "fat tax" = "gym membership that you don't use". No excuses when it's on your property.

The sturdy little squat rack that could

Great, small-footprint squat rack. Surprisingly sturdy. Plenty of room to squat, bench or do anything else inside the cage. Plus feels pretty solid with a suspension trainer. Perfect for a shed gym or anywhere else where space is a concern.
