What's your name? I'm Luis E. Gonzalez and most of the time I workout with my wife Liliana Gonzalez.
How old are you? I'm 33 (wife is 32)
Do you have an Instagram handle? my IG is @lugon_01
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Live in Heber Ca...I'm a quiet guy that likes to workout about 5-6 times a week, don't drink don't smoke and trying to eat a lot healthier....really enjoy being able to have my wife as a workout partner and occasionally my 9, 4 and 2 year old boys workout with us.
How would you describe your training style? We are in love with crossfit, so everything we do is crossfit style workouts (we r currently following a program named streetparking)
How would you describe your fitness/strength level, currently? I would say we are still learning a lot about crossfit, so we will always we are beginners in crossfit. Not a pro athlete but just regular people that enjoy doing crossfit few times a week.
What are your fitness/strength goals? I would say our strength/fitness goals would be to be healthy and be physically and mentally strong for whatever life throws at us.
Describe your garage gym. I would describe our garage gym as a mini crossfit gym....have a little of everything, basic equipment to do crossfit workouts. Small garage gym but big enough to workout with a few friends and have a good time.
Who works out in your garage gym? My wife (Liliana Gonzalez) and I are the main ones that workout in our garage...once in a while friends come over.
Why did you build a garage gym? We have always liked to workout, so we decided to invest in our garage to be able to workout whenever we want and it's easier to workout at home rather than drive to a gym.
What’s your favorite piece of equipment in your garage? Don't really have a favorite piece of equipment.
What piece of equipment was a waste? I have no piece that's a waste...really enjoy using everything on different days.
What’s the next piece of equipment you’re going to get? Our next piece of equipment that we are going to get will be a set of Olympic Rings and two Olympic wonder bars.
Any dream piece of equipment? Our dream piece would be a 2 wall mount garage rig that could be linked side by side (one being mine and the other for my wife) along with two good Olympic bars because the ones we have are not good quality or they are not even made to do crossfit, but they work for now.
How did you build your garage gym? We built our garage in about 2 years and still don't have everything we want. We have bought some stuff from fringesports, eBay, yard sales, etc.
Do you have any tips for anyone else looking to build a garage gym? I would recommend to anyone that wants to build a garage gym to start with basic equipment, start by getting certain things that you will use often and look around to see what equipment you like that offers good quality equipment at a low price (fringesports) would be a great start!
