What’s Your Name?
Do you have a name for your gym?
Tell us a little about yourself - what you do when you aren’t lifting, what are your other hobbies, etc.
I am a Home gym designer and creator that is also a Henselman Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Certified Nutrition Coach. I enjoy doing things with my family and creating and designing new exercise equipment. My sister company Exponent Edge is launching with several new products for the home.
What made you decide to create the best garage gym ever?
This is actually my 5th home gym, I have upgraded and modified my space through 4 moves and have owned a home gym since I was 23 (yes, 20 years ago now).
What gear do you have in your gym?
For a full list, you’ll have to check out my YouTube video but my favorites include; 2 sets of PowerBlock Dumbbells, a set of Dumbler’s, my awesome FringeSport Bumper Plates, and barbell, Dual Wall Mounted Racks, my Spud Inc pulley, and my own patented Wall Mounted GHD.
When did you become part of the Fringe Fam? What was your first Fringe purchase?
I bought my Bumper Plates and barbell back in 2016.
What’s your favorite gear that you use all the time?
I work out 6 days a week so everything gets constant usage in my gym.
What gear do you never use?
My knee sleeves
What was your best gear purchase?
This is too difficult to answer. I am not sure I would want to part ways with anything but if I had to, I would have to say I could manage with just one wall-mounted rack.
What gear purchase do you wish you would have said “NO” to?
What’s your favorite workout?
I am currently using my Renegade Max Muscle. It is a 20 week, Powerbuilding program I created with an 8 week Strength Block, a 4-week Muscular Endurance Block, followed by an 8-week Hypertrophy Block. Every block ends with a 1-week deload. I’m 43 so my joints and body need that week before pushing hard again. If anyone wants to get their hands on this or other workouts, I would be happy to oblige.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
You only get out what you put in.
What advice would you give to newbie garage gymmers?
If you are concerned about making buying mistakes or saving money, get some assistance. There are many great companies out there that make wonderful products, including FringeSport that everyone should be aware of.
